The Boat

Elnath is a 1991 Olympic Sea 42. Furling sails with all lines back to the cockpit for safety and solo sailing, well maintained, a good set of electronics and she sails beautifully. 3 double cabins (but the 3rd cabin is for equipment and storage), new cooker in the galley. 400Ah of batteries and lots of solar. 400 litres of water storage plus a watermaker and 150 litres of diesel. New mast, standing rigging and running rigging in 2016. Last surveyed March 2019. Liferaft, EPIRB, AIS, oversized Rocna for secure nights at anchor. Rib Dinghy with new Mercury outboard. Paddleboard.

The Skipper

I am English but grew up in Canada and have dual nationality. I have travelled a lot, lived in 10 countries and visited or worked in more than 40 so far. I think travel gives you a broader outlook on life. I served in the British Army (Soldier, Helicopter Pilot, Communications Engineer), since then I have been an IT Consultant, Roadie, Sound Engineer, Cowboy and Scuba Instructor. I can be persuaded to tell stories about most of these experiences and some are even funny and interesting. I live on my boat and am wandering to find new places to explore and scuba dive. Life should be slow paced and relaxing, it is all about the journey and this journey is In a westerly direction and meandering.

I can cook and enjoy doing it but am lazy about it when I am solo. I am not a vegetarian but don’t need meat with every meal. I can juggle balls and am trying to learn to juggle clubs (difficult on a boat). I like to have music playing on the boat.
